Love this!!!

THE NEXT SURVIVOR SERIES

Six married men will be dropped on an island with one car and 3 kids each for six weeks.

Each kid will play two sports and either take music or dance classes.

There is no fast food.

Each man must take care of his 3 kids; keep his assigned house clean, correct all homework, and complete science projects, cook, do laundry, and pay a list of 'pretend' bills with not enough money.

In addition, each man will have to budget in money for groceries each week.

Each man must remember the birthdays of all their friends and relatives, and send cards out on time--no emailing.

Each man must also take each child to a doctor's appointment, a dentist appointment and a haircut appointment.

He must make one unscheduled and inconvenient visit per child to the Urgent Care.

He must also make cookies or cupcakes for a social function.

Each man will be responsible for decorating his own assigned house, planting flowers outside and keeping it presentable at all times.

The men will only have access to television when the kids are asleep and all chores are done.

The men must shave their legs, wear makeup daily, adorn himself with jewelry, wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes, keep fingernails polished and eyebrows groomed.

During one of the six weeks, the men will have to endure severe abdominal cramps, back aches, and have extreme, unexplained mood swings but never once complain or slow down from other duties.

They must attend weekly school meetings, church, and find time at least once to spend the afternoon at the park or a similar setting.

They will need to read a book to the kids each night and in the morning, feed them, dress them, brush their teeth and comb their hair by 7:00 am.

A test will be given at the end of the six weeks, and each father will be required to know all of the following information: each child's birthday, height, weight, shoe size, clothes size and doctor's name.

Also the child's weight at birth, length, time of birth, and length of labor, each child's favorite color, middle name, favorite snack, favorite song, favorite drink, favorite toy, biggest fear and what they want to be when they grow up.

The kids vote them off the island based on performance. The last man wins only if...he still has enough energy to be intimate with his spouse at a moment's notice.

If the last man does win, he can play the game over and over and over again for the next 18-25 years eventually earning the right To be called Mother!

I post the above just for fun! I kid the Daddy all the time that he couldn't handle my job! Of course I know I couldn't handle his job and I am grateful everyday for what he does for our family.

Ella's Bee Sting - Ouch!

Last Sunday night (when we were in San Antonio) Ella got stung by a bee. We are not exactly sure why the bee stung her - we only know that she has been stung 5 (yes, 5!) times in her short life! She is a very curious little kitty and at least 3 of the times she was playing with and trying to catch the bees. I am thinking that she will be very cautious from now on - her hand swelled up soooo bad we took her to the doctor and she had to get 2 steroid shots to reduce the swelling. Of course, time will make her forget the pain so she will probably try to catch them again!

Her hand was so swollen her fingers were larger around than mine! Her creases in her knuckles were popped out and they looked like blisters. Even her wrist was swollen. It has now started to turn black and blue. Once this is healed I will be taking her to the doctors for blood work to detect a serious bee allergy - they say that it gets worse with each sting. Emily had a bee sting in kindergarten on her foot and her face and neck swelled up. They both may be candidates for the epi-pen for their bee stings.

Labor Day Weekend!

We have started a little tradition in our household. Last year over labor day weekend we drove down to San Antonio to visit my cousin and we went to Schlitterbahn Waterpark. It is supposedly rated the best waterpark in the world. It is really really big with 3 different parks in one. It has several "Lazy River" type rides that mommy really likes!

While we were in San Antonio we went to Hemisfair park, The Riverwalk & The Alamo.

Next year we are going to head to Galveston (weather permitting) and try out their Schlitterbahn.

BACK TO SCHOOL!

My babies are growing up soooooooo fast! They started school again on the 25th of August. Ella is now in the 1st grade and Emily is in 3rd grade! They are both so beautiful and I love watching them grow and learn. Lucas is still homeschooling :-) He probably won't be starting school for several more years. The trend around here are Mother's Day Out programs but I probably won't send him to preschool until the year before he starts kindergarten (2011). The time that they are home from school is so short and I am really loving spending time with him. Since my parents are living here now they will probably take him every so often so that I can work on my P & P's. When I took the girls' picture Luke had to join in the action too!

Swimming fun!!!!

We have certainly been enjoying our new pool this summer! We have even had a few swim parties!

A car load of animals!

Just before the kids went back to school we went with Debbie and kids (yes all 8 of us piled in
my van) to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. We drove a little over 2 hours and then when we got there we drove a few hours more! Fossil Rim is a 9 mile drive through a wildlife preserve. The kids got to feed the animals. We saw an ostrich's, emus, zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, deer, several other miscellaneous deer/goat like animals and we were even charged by wild sheep! No worries - we all escaped unharmed. We will definitely be going back!

A visit from Aunt Kathy!

Aunt Kathy (the cupcake aunt) came to visit in August! Yes she brought the cupcake recipes and made 4 different kinds of Sugarrush cupcakes for us! The were YUMMY! (even though she said they turned out horrible - we didn't think so!) Lucas was a big fan of the cupcakes - he easily says cupcake. He wants them for all of his meals! But please don't take the wrapper off - he will absolutely have a fit - HE wants to do it!

YUMMY!!!!!!!!

UH OH! Lucas discovered GUM!!!!
We were doing some shopping at Sam's Club with Kathy and when we were done the girls got to buy gumballs from the machine. Lucas wanted a ball so we gave him one thinking that he would just hold it because he had no idea it was gum or what gum was. Well a few minutes after holding it and just after everyone was loaded in the car, mommy turned around and discovered him chewing it. He was loving every minute of it! She did make him spit it out right away because she was really concerned about him choking! He had the WHOLE wad of gum in his mouth!

Swimming Lessons

All three kids took swimming lessons through the city. The girls had a blast. They learned many different strokes and are certainly little fish. Lucas did not last too long in the lessons. They were mommy and me lessons. Everyday we would want to use the kick board but he would fall off. This was especially frustrating for mommy because he would not let her hold onto the kick board or near the kick board but he expected mommy to catch him if he fell off. Mommy figured that there was no good reason to get into this cold city pool and do this when we could play the same game at home in a much warmer pool.

August Update

So I have resorted to at least a monthly update but it is better than no update at all!!

So Sorry Kris!!!!

Okay so I am a BIG LOSER!! I am so sorry Kris!
When we went to CA in June my primary reason for going was to throw a baby shower for my best friend Kristine! I have known her since Emily and her daughter Kayleigh were about 6 months old. She has seen me through my pregnancies with Ella & Lucas as well as so many other things! I have been hoping and praying for her to have another baby for so long. After 7 years with Kay she found out she was pregnant again. The Thomas family welcomed baby Kyle on July 21 at 1:17 pm. He weighed in at 8lbs. and was 20" long! He is so cute and looks alot like big sister Kayleigh!
